I have been mostly silent, turning inward to the soul of our community in these troubling times. But I cannot remain silent in the face of the rage I now feel.
Our Prime Minister was content to take Hamas at its word in levelling the worst accusations against Israel — completely disregarding the obvious self-interest Hamas has in spreading such claims. In other words: propaganda.
To the defenders of Israel who rightly pointed out that the “Gaza Health Ministry” is simply Hamas propaganda, he turned his nose up. Yet to any rational mind, it is plain that those statements served a political purpose: a core strategy of the October 7 massacre was to alienate Israel from the international community. But Albanese saw nothing wrong in accepting their words as fact.
The only time he acknowledges that Hamas engages in propaganda is when it hurts him. When he claimed his actions would distance Hamas, and Hamas celebrated, suddenly he noticed. Of course, that was the one time Hamas spoke the truth — they were genuinely delighted. And why wouldn’t they be? They have lost all credibility among the Palestinian people of Gaza, who know them as the source of their suffering, with nothing to show for it. Western governments declaring they will recognise Palestine is a propaganda victory Hamas can hand back to its people (though in reality it is utterly meaningless). Their only propaganda was in retracting their joy once they saw the backlash.
What an absolute tool of monsters our Prime Minister and his ministers are. And alongside them, all their henchmen and women at the ABC, and the self-righteous, willfully ignorant (at best) voices in the pro-Hamas camp.
Shame on you all.
And for the record: the Jewish people have faced far greater threats than the weak-minded, morally bankrupt, and intellectually absurd company you keep.
