We are thrilled to welcome you to Neshama, a vibrant new community initiative that stands as a testament to both traditional and modern spiritual practices. Founded by Rabbi Shneur Reti Waks and the dynamic team at Rabbi Without Borders, Neshama was born from a profound desire to engage with Jewish life deeply and tangibly.
At Neshama, we cherish and promote an environment where everyone can celebrate, commemorate, learn, pray, and sing with soul—whether it’s marking significant lifecycle events like a Bat Mitzvah or engaging in yearly celebrations such as the High Holidays. Our offerings are diverse, ranging from the melodies of the Neshama Band to the communal gatherings of Kehillat Neshama, all designed to foster deep connections and enrich our spiritual journey.
The word “Neshama” means soul, reflecting our focus on the essence of community and spirituality rather than the external formalities of tradition. This ethos resonates through our events, whether it’s an interfaith chuppah or a gathering at the Bowls Club, where the primary goal is to unlock a more meaningful spiritual experience.
We recognise that many in our community yearn for a connection to the rich inspirations of our tradition, yet feel alienated by the conventional religious frameworks. At Neshama, we strive to bridge this gap by focusing on what truly brings us together: a shared commitment to a Jewish life that is both personal and communal, deeply meaningful, and spiritually fulfilling. And in total harmony with our modern values we hold so dear.
Join us as we strive to create a community that counters the tides of polarisation and outrage, focusing instead on soulful experiences and meaningful connections. Explore our new website to learn more about our mission and discover how you can be a part of Neshama – Tradition With Soul.
Welcome to our journey. Welcome to Neshama, where we open spiritual doors rather than shut people out.

SOULFUL THOUGHTS (reviews)
The barmi was everything we could have dreamed of and more. You spoke so beautifully about how to make sense of the parsha in todays times. So many people said it was the best Barmitzvah they have ever been to. We are all on a high. The music was extraordinary and your connection with Abe was so beautiful. Thank you soooo much for everything!!!
How can we possibly describe in words the amazing privilege of having Rabbi Shneur Barmitzvah our boys?! The whole experience – from the training through to the barmitzvah itself – was handled expertly by Rabbi Shneur, which took away all the stress we expected we would experience, and allowed our whole family to connect with our Judaism and the simcha in the most meaningful and memorable way. The ceremony was magical and perfectly choreographed by Rabbi Shneur and so many of our guests told us how moved they were by the experience and how inclusive it felt. Thank you for being such an important part of our simcha.
